Wow, WOW, WOW what a trip and what an amazing country. A hugh “Thank You” to Paul Wadkin of Simply Cycling Slovenia and his able bodied assistant, Matej for their support and guidance of our group of friends over almost three glorious weeks of cycling and touring. Paul definitely knows his way around Slovenia and the surrounding countries of Austria, Hungary and Croatia and was able to easily make adjustments to our daily routes to avoid construction and heavy traffic roads. As well, it was always nice to know that Matej was available for a pick-up if the roads or weather were too much to handle and to pick up parts when needed for minor repairs to the bikes.
Slovenia is a beautiful, very clean country with friendly people, good food and very good beer and wine. Travelling through the Julian Alps was stunning and although some of the climbs were strenuous it was always well worth it. If you haven’t visited yet I would definitely add it high up on the list and if you enjoy cycling then www.simplycyclingslovenia.com is a great way to go.

Holiday June 2025. What a wonderful cycling holiday through Slovenia, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. Paul’s itinerary was superb. The accommodation chosen was beyond excellent and obviously very well researched. I couldn’t find fault with any of it. I found him to be an inspired tour leader able to adapt rides if necessary because of roadworks, or because we as a group wished to visit the honey farm, pumpkin factory, have a swim. We were very demanding!!! Paul took it all in his stride with good humour. He has extensive knowledge of the areas we cycled through. Prior to the trip Paul kept in touch regularly and answered any queries I had promptly. I travelled on my own so it was very daunting. I needn’t have worried. I was met on arrival and looked after very well. I was taken back to the airport on departure.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Paul to anyone who may wish to cycle with him.
I look forward to joining another tour in 2026.

A Journey to Remember – Simply Cycling Slovenia’s Four Countries Tour.
My partner and I recently completed the Four Countries Tour with Simply Cycling Slovenia, and what an unforgettable experience it was!
Over 10 days, our group of 10 (nine from Perth and one from the UK) cycled and walked through some of the most spectacular landscapes across Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, and Hungary. Some days travelling into 3 countries and back.
This was, without question, one of the most special experiences we’ve had in all our travels. We give it five stars and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, well-organized, and heartfelt adventure through one of the most beautiful corners of Europe.
